Really? Man... I lost nearly $1B in rent yesterday. No big deal though... I'm not going to remove the hazards until I drop off the leaderboards.

In the very early days I had some great fights half an hour or so before GMT +0. It was frantic, building, selling, building, desperately trying to get a bonus card to get the rent in for the next day. The best day was when I managed to pull four demolition cards and a couple of hazards in the last twenty minutes - the local leader was destroyed, no rent, and never logged in again.

Probably my favourite tactic at the moment for staying fairly under the radar (despite being 4th nationally now, I've seen the state of those above me and they are all sabotaged to hell), is to build the $30m sky scrapers. These won't give you the ROI for a long time whereas streets full of grid buildings will double your investment in one day and shoot you right up the board. Then you have the problem of selling them all later to build better buildings when all your streets are full. At the end, everyone will be wanting the $30m buildings, best get in there early. That also helps with avoiding nasty chance cards. When I'm down to about 50-100m cash I start building the smaller buildings again in order to get bonus cards and demolition if necessary.

I can't believe some of the guys on the leaderboard, their best streets protected with just one or two bonus buildings - they're just asking for it. I aim for ten bonus buildings for my best roads. The one I had wiped out by MCS had 14.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was going to do. Though I placed the bonus a little early b/c I didn't think I was gonna be back on so soon

0 GMT is 2.00 am here in the Netherlands. For my work I have to wake up at 6.15 so waiting till 2.00 is not really an option. I do my building in the evening and log in at 06.30 to collect the rent. That works for me. Right now I'm #1 in the national leaderboard with 3,7 billion. Right now, I have all my streets protected with 3 - 7 bonuses, and it is much quieter with attacks.
